Art of Emotions: A Palette Knife Painting Workshop, by ROMULUS
Presented by Angelina Mirabito
Unlock your creativity and express what words cannot.
In this hands-on workshop, Melbourne-based abstract artist Angelina Mirabito guides participants through an intuitive painting process where emotion becomes the palette. Working with bold colour, layered texture, and the spontaneous movement of palette knife techniques, the session offers a unique opportunity to explore art-making as a form of emotional expression and release.
The workshop begins with gentle breathwork and colour reflection to support a clear, grounded approach to creating. Participants are then invited to experiment with palette knives and a range of tools to create a bold, tactile 40x40cm painting—no prior experience required.
This small group workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment, welcoming to both beginners and seasoned creatives.
In this session, participants will:
• Learn to use palette knives to create rich texture and movement
• Explore colour as a personal, emotional language
• Embrace intuition, spontaneity, and sensory experience in art-making
• Complete a 40x40cm abstract artwork to take home
What’s included:
• All materials (canvas, tools, paints)
• A glass of wine and light refreshments
• Your completed 40x40cm artwork
• Small group setting (maximum 12 participants)
