ELIoT instals second smart battery trial at CBCo Brewing

ELIoT Energy continues its mission tohelp small businesses cut emissions and energy costs .

Following a successful café pilot at Six Fifty Sips on Lorimer Street, ELIoT Energy has now installed its second smart battery at CBCo Brewing in Port Melbourne—continuing its mission to prove that practical, retrofittable technology can help small businesses cut emissions and energy costs without replacing functional equipment.

Jarrod Stivala, Head of Operations at CBCo Brewing, said:
“We are so happy to partner with FB IDEAs and ELIoT and be part of this trial. We are excited to collaborate and see how these innovative battery solutions can help to reduce our carbon footprint and improve operations at the Port Melbourne brewery.”

This installation builds on the connections forged through the VCC PowerOn Incubator, supported by FB IDEAs, and the Fishermans Bend Incubator and Innovation Hub—where both ELIoT founder David and Hub member Philip Oefner are active participants.

As the technology rolls out across more venues, the early data continues to impress:

  • 41% emissions reduction (Melbourne pilot)

  • Over 35% energy cost savings

  • No equipment landfill

  • Real-time data capture to refine and scale the technology

ELIoT’s smart battery system has already been recognised with a City of Melbourne Open Innovation Award and selection into PepsiCo’s Asia-Pacific Greenhouse Accelerator. But the real power lies in what’s happening right here in Fishermans Bend: community-led, practical innovation driving a more sustainable future—one fridge at a time.
