Did you know that refrigeration is one of the key contributors to the carbon footprint for hospitality businesses, and one of the most challenging to decarbonise, especially for small operators?
ELIoT Energy is contributing to decarbonizing the food and beverage industry by developing cutting-edge energy-shifting battery devices that optimize green energy usage in point-of-sale cooling appliances and reduce energy costs for retail and hospitality businesses.
These innovative smart batteries allow operators to shift energy usage in their existing refrigerators to times when there is an excess of green energy available. By doing so, it allows them to utilise green energy, reducing their carbon footprint and their energy costs.
In partnership with cafe operator Six Fifty Sips, who are located at 650 Lorimer Street (in the foyer of the FB IDEAs Hub), ELIoT Energy will trial their innovative plug'n'play batteries and monitor to benefits over a 6 month pilot. The trial will provide a case study and use-case for the batteries, demonstrating the value for small hospitality operators.
The trial will unlock insights that can be further applied to other Point of Sale applications in retail and hospitality.
“Australia has plenty of renewable green energy, what is missing is the storage capacity to make use of it when the sun doesn’t shine and the wind doesn’t blow.”
