Micromobility in Fishermans Bend

  • FB IDEAs Incubator and Innovation Hub Level 1, 650 Lorimer Street Port Melbourne, VIC, 3207 Australia (map)

After six months of testing and learning, we’re excited to share the outcomes of the E-Micromobility Trial in Fishermans Bend — a collaboration between NTRO, microFleet, and proudly supported by FB IDEAs.  Join us to learn from the pilot and explore ways we can work together to build a smarter, more connected precinct.

Over 6 months, NTRO staff had access to two e-bikes and two e-scooters, supported by Microfleet’s universal charging station and booking app, for trips around the precinct and to nearby destinations.

Hear from the team at NTRO and Microfleet as they present the findings of the project and participate in a forward-looking discussion about the future of micromobility in our precinct.

Hear from Ronny Kutadinata, NTRO project lead, as he presents the key findings from the pilot, including real usage patterns, candid staff feedback, and operational insights from integrating e-micromobility into daily commuting and work trips. He’ll highlight both the barriers uncovered during the trial and the opportunities for future implementation across the precinct, as well as how e-scooters and e-bikes can transform workplace mobility.

Al Reid, CEO of microFleet, will highlight the value of real world pilots for improving the application and features of new technology platforms. He will contrast the local e-mobility market with trends and opportunities in Europe and North America, and how these might be applied in Fishermans Bend. Al will also reflect on what makes a clean tech startup flounder or succeed.

Following the presentations there will be time for Q&A and discussion about opportunities for the future — in infrastructure, policy, or support — to grow micromobility and help startups like microFleet thrive in delivering sustainable transport solutions.

Whether you're in transport, innovation, policy, or urban development — your voice is vital in shaping what’s next for micromobility in Fishermans Bend.
