"Echoes" is a captivating exhibition featuring the works of Arabella Strachan, Lynda Sterns, and Fiona Johnston. Together, their diverse practices resonate like overlapping voices, exploring memory, presence, and transformation. The exhibition invites viewers to experience the reverberations of individual expression converging into a shared, resonant dialogue.

Artists include:

Arabella Strachan

Arabella is a Melbourne based artist whose textile based practice applies contemporary and traditional rug making techniques and other craft processes, exploring patterns and motifs that are imbued with personal meaning, emotion and hidden desire, reflecting the larger human experience. Arabella's background in textile design and love of pattern and embellishment, influence the composition of each work with a desire to create tactile and luxurious works that are a playful mixture of colour and touchable surface.

Fiona Johnston

Fiona expresses her creativity through watercolours, acrylics, textures and monoprints, cultivating an abstract style. Her art studio serves as a sanctuary for experimentation, where she strives to create light, depth, and contrast in her loose compositions.
Inspiration for her creations comes from various aspects of life, including family, personal experiences, travel, gallery visits, interactions with other artists, and the beauty of nature. Fiona's warm and vibrant colour palette reflects the beauty she observes in her surroundings.

Lynda Sterns

Painting regularly has become a passion since starting a small business painting children's room decor 18 years ago. In recent years the balance has shifted to allow more time to learn and practice my contemporary painting. I am drawn to darker tones and as a keen cook love to paint snapshots of culinary moments. This in turn has lead to a fascination in hands and portraiture.
