Providing reliable, mobile power using sustainable and renewable energy sources on construction sites is a challenge. Often the only solution is diesel and petrol generators.
This project aims to show there is an alternative - a clean, quiet, and rapidly deployable battery storage ecosystem that could replace diesel and petrol generators in off-grid, remote, temporary settings.
In the collaboration with the team behind the Hivepod demonstration project, this project will trial the use of Equoia’s mobile battery storage units (Baby Power Droid) and a solar array setup, to provide continuous energy supply to the HivePod installation.
The project will also support Equoia to explore new applications for their technology, building on the use-case in the film and tv sector where the technology was created. As an early-stage company, the trial will support Equoia to test and expand into community events and grow towards their broader mission: to power remote communities, support emergency services, construction sites, and sporting events.
“This collaboration is an exciting new application for Equoia. Just like film sets, construction sites demand reliable, clean and mobile power in off-grid locations. Our Baby Power Droids deliver silent energy without fumes or noise, supporting safer, more efficient ways of working.”
