City of Port Phillip Councillors tour the Circular Design Collective

Last week we hosted a tour for City of Port Phillip Councillors to show them the Fishermans Bend Circular Design Collective.

It was a great opportunity to meet with Cr Alex Makin (Montague Ward), Cr Justin Halliday (Alma Ward) and Cr Beti Jay (South Melbourne Ward), and show them the great work by our Innovators in Residence. Bernadene Voss, former City of Port Phillip Mayor and member of the FB IDEAs Board, also joined us, along with Yesha Patel and Nehal Jain from After.

It was encouraging to reaffirm that the ethos of the circular design collective is aligned to the Council’s priorities around sustainability and waste reduction - and inspiring to watch the ideas and connections forming as they learnt about the work that After are doing to divert textile waste from landfill and the benefits that has for local businesses, Council and the environment.

Stay tuned for more updates about opportunities to get involved and our collaboration with City of Port Phillip. And special thanks to Alex, Beti and Justin for coming to visit!
