Vietnamese Govt Delegation tour

Last week we hosted a Fishermans Bend tour for a delegation of guests from the Vietnamese government, in partnership with the Fishermans Bend Taskforce at the Victorian Government, City of Melbourne and NTRO - National Transport Research Organisation.

The visit to Melbourne was part of a strategic partnership supported by The World Bank and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Co-ordinated by a team from Curtin University and VXC Global, the purpose of the trip was to build connections with government colleagues and share knowledge around digital innovation and data governance. And of course, to hear and see some examples of innovation in practise.

The tour included presentations by the Victoria Government about the vision for urban renewal and innovation in Fishermans Bend, highlighting examples of digital innovation in the precinct such as the  Digital Twin Victoria project which started as a pilot in Fishermans Bend and is now a statewide digital tool.

We also heard about the City of Melbourne’s approach to digital innovation challenges, like the recently launched “Regenerative City” Fishermans Bend Digital Innovation Challenge 2024, and we visited the Remix Raingarden on Turner Street which was the 2022 Innovation Challenge winner.

We also learnt about NTRO’s state-of-the-art infrastructure measurement fleet and exciting data transformation program.

It was great to collaborate with local partners, connect with new ones both in Australia and Vietnam and showcase innovation in Fishermans Bend.
